G’day everyone!

I trust that you had a great Christmas period remembering our Saviour Jesus Christ, and a safe and happy New Year Period. 2010 will the biggest year at SWITCH with a terrific new program and activities. We’re also starting a new venture in Term 2- more of that later!

Here are some things that we’ll be doing:

Term 1: We’ll be starting the year by looking in detail at the short but momentous book of 1 John. This book addresses how to be the person that God wants you to be. In the middle of Term 1, we’ll be addressing the important issue of Doubt and the Christian life.

In the April school holidays, SWITCH will be heading up to Katoomba for the annual KYCK conference with 3000 other teens from around NSW to be challenged with God’s word from Ecclesiastes. If you’d like to come along, please print off a rego form under useful material–> forms.

Term 2: We’ll be going through a series of hot topics such as rest, failure, unjust suffering and homosexuality. We’ll also be having a seminar of boy girl relationships split into guys and girls. Then we’ll be going through a series of the Doctrine of God eg the love, majesty, predestinating, wrath, and jealousy.

In the holidays, we’ll be organising some socials and a series of how the Bible sits together- called Biblical Theology.

Term 3: We’ll be going through some WHY questions. ie why am i so lonely? why isn’t my body good enough? why do I always want more stuff? why am I so impatient? why do the best things always have to end? This will be a great time to bring your friends to as well as RICE fever and RICE rally during the month of August. Ending of the term, we’ll be looking at some of the minor prophets- books that rarely get a look in.

Term 4: Our final term we’ll be looking a a great book of 1 Samuel in the Old Testament. This book challenges all of us about leadership and serving as God’s people.

So there you have it.  As I mentioned before, more will be revealed throughout term 1 about an exciting new venture happening in Term 2.

Hey all

If you were asked, tell me what you believe as a Christian, and that they wanted to become a Christian; would you know what to say? A lot of us don’t or what we say is all mixed up and that.

So on Monday 14 (2-3.30pm), Tuesday 15 (2-3.30pm) and Wed 16 (10.30am-12pm) December, we’ll be conducting some simple training on how to share the good news of Jesus with your friends. It’ll be held at church. Please let Ernie or me know

SWITCH IS BACK this coming Sunday 25th Oct.

We’ll be starting our 2 part series on the Holy Spirit. We’ll also be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary with cake!! We have also asked the parents to come and visit to see what we have been up to.
