About

SWITCH! (The people)

ANOTHER youth group called SWITCH? What’s with that name?

So maybe you’ve heard of (a) SWITCH, maybe you haven’t. Usually names become popular because either they sound really cool, or they accurately describe the thing you are naming.

So take SWITCH as an example.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8) A guy called Paul wrote that a long time ago to some of his mates in Ephesus. We are called SWITCH because SWITCH pretty much sums up what we are about; making the switch from darkness to light. That, and also so our logo can have a lightbulb in it:

I see…very snazzy. So you’ve told me WHY it’s called SWITCH, but WHAT is it exactly?

Well SWITCH is a lively bunch of Year 7 to 12 teens who meet up every Sunday to play games, sing, learn stuff straight from the Bible and chillax (chill + relax = chillax).

We start gathering nice and early at 8:30am and we start the whole thing at 8:45am – usually ending at around 11am. Then we have morning tea time. SWITCH can be found at 28-30 Wellington Rd, East Lindfield on Sundays during the school term.
